Johnstone's on the lookout for the ultimate fab four player
As the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy prepares for its fourth consecutive year of netbulging action, the competition is calling on all fans to celebrate the milestone by voting for their ultimate ‘fab four footballer.’
July 2009
Johnstone’s Paints, which has just enjoyed its most successful year as sponsor of the Football League Trophy, is urging club supporters to vote for their favourite player who is currently wearing the number four shirt.
Whether it’s an inspirational skipper, a favourite penalty taker, or just a terrace cult hero, as long as they wear the number four jersey, Johnstone’s want fans to give them a shout.
The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy will be running a competition online, via its new enhanced website, where supporters can log on and vote.
By voting for their favourite number four player, fans will be automatically entered into a competition with a chance to win some fantastic prizes, which include a Sony Home entertainment system and five ipod nano’s.
Plus one lucky person will be picked at random to present the winning player with a magnum of champagne and the player’s replica number four shirt
Supporters can vote throughout August and September and the ultimate fab four footballer and competition winners will be announced early October 2009

Johnstone’s Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Sally Binns said: “We are proud to sponsor the Football League Trophy for a fourth year. Our partnership goes from strength to strength, and clubs are taking the competition more and more seriously.
“We witnessed this at Wembley earlier this year, when one of the best domestic cup finals was played out in front of 55,000 fans.
“Supporters continue to flock through the turnstiles to see the action and we want to reward these supporters, which is why we have come up with this novel initiative.
“And let’s face it, the humble number four never seems to grab the limelight!”
