Johnstone’s is giving teams the chance to compete in their national five-a-side competition to be played at Powerleague venues across the UK and Ireland with one unique and ultimate difference - the final will be played just before the kick-off of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 28th March 2010.
You and your team will be taken to the stadium by coach and will be provided with your own team strip. You will have the opportunity to change in you very own dressing room before being led out onto the pitch to take part in the Johnstone’s Paint 5-A-Side Final. There’ll be free tickets to the Final for the two competing teams, so that you can bring your family and friends along to cheer you on to glory!

The Johnstone’s Paint 5-A-Side Competition will operate on a knockout basis with the 1st Round regional heats played over three weekends in January / February 2010 as detailed below:

21st February
The winning team from each regional venue will go through to either the Northern or Southern Area Final which will be held on Sunday 7th March 2010 at the following venues:
Northern Area Final – Manchester (Trafford)
Southern Area Final – Milton Keynes
The Area Final winners will then go head to head at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 28th March 2010 for the right to be crowned Johnstone’s Paint 5-A-Side winners!

1. To participate in this competition all entrants and registered players must be 18 years or over as at 30.09.2009. Teams may only register a maximum of 8 players. Each team may field four outfield players and a goalkeeper on the pitch at any time.
2. The original 8 team players registered in the first round must be the same 8 players that progress to the further rounds. Should any players get injured, then the event organiser must be notified prior to the next round taking place. Following this a squad member can be swapped.
3. Participants must have no known medical complaints that stop them from safely taking part, and must sign a declaration to this effect prior to taking part. Unfortunately due to FA Regulations, this competition is only open to male entrants.
4. Open to residents of the UK, IoM and Republic of Ireland.
5. Anyone who is subject to a current football banning order is not eligible to play.
6. Players with a full time contract to a professional club may not enter.
7. How to enter – PPG CUSTOMER ENTRY: Customers who wish to enter a team must be named as the Team Manager and as a named player and hold a valid account opened prior to October 2009 with PPG Architectural Coatings UK Limited or PPG Architectural Coatings Ireland Limited. Named team players do not have to be PPG Architectural Coatings UK Limited or PPG Architectural Coatings Ireland Limited customers. To enter participants must fill in an entry form and return to the address specified by 19th December 2009, or enter online at www.johnstonespainttrophy.com . All customer entries must be on an entry form with all details supplied. Verbal entries will not be allowed.
8. How to enter – PPG EMPLOYEE ENTRY: Employees of PPG Architectural Coatings UK Limited or PPG Architectural Coatings Ireland Limited may enter a team. The Team Manager and all team members must be PPG employees and remain in employment of PPG whilst their team remains in the competition. To enter participants must fill in an entry form and return to the address specified by 19th December 2009. All employee entries must be on an entry form with all details supplied. Verbal entries will not be allowed.
9. How to enter – PUBLIC ENTRY: To enter this competition, team captains should complete an entry form for their team and return it to Powerleague Fives Ltd. A £35.00 payment can be made by cheque made payable to “Powerleague Fives Ltd”, entries can also be taken on the credit card hotline number 0141-847-5565 or online at www.johnstonespainttrophy.com
10. Closing date for PPG CUSTOMER entry and PPG EMPLOYEE entry is 19th December 2009. Closing date for PUBLIC “walk up” entries is the Friday prior to listed centre Round 1 date – see local centre for further information. “Walk up” entries will be allowed at the Powerleague centre before noon on this day. Entry constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
11. The Promoter will be responsible for choosing the final contestants. The Promoter’s decision is final - no correspondence will be entered into.
12. PPG customer entry and entry for PPG employee teams is free. Only one free PPG customer entry per company business address. Only one entry per person. Participants can only play for one team during the competition.
13. Entry is on a first come first served basis. Whilst every attempt will be made to ensure all entrants are provided with the opportunity to play and at the venue of their choice, unexpected high or low levels of subscription or exceptional circumstances beyond our control may force limited participation or mean that the venue chosen is not available.
14. Each participating team will receive an information pack from Johnstone’s during January 2010 with details of Round 1 of the competition. Squads must consist of up to 8 players of amateur status. Team captains must obtain permission from each team member to enter their name on the entry form.
15. The Tournament will be run by Powerleague and shall be subject to Powerleague’s rules and regulations that will be provided in the information packs. Round 1 will be played between 24th January 2010 and 21st February 2010. Details of the centre locations can be found at www.powerleague.co.uk . If your chosen venue is over or under subscribed you will be contacted with your chosen alternative.
16. If this is unacceptable your entry fee will be refunded, if applicable. If your team is not selected to play in the competition your entry fee will be refunded, if applicable. No refunds will be given under any other circumstances. The top team from each Round 1 event will qualify to take part in the Area Finals.
17. Round 1 and the Area Finals will be conducted in a Champions League Group stages format followed by semi final and final. Details of how Round 1 and the Area Finals will be organised will be contained in the information packs and online at www.powerleague.co.uk . Kick off time for Round 1 and the Area Finals varies from centre to centre, teams will be notified via information packs. Participants will be expected to pay for their own travel costs and other related costs for Round 1 and the Area Finals.
18. Area Finals: The teams that go through to the Area Finals must be available to play on Sunday 7th March 2010 at the relevant centre specified. There will be two Area Finals - the Northern Area Final will be played at Manchester (Trafford), the Southern Area Final at Milton Keynes.
19. The Final at Wembley Stadium: The two finalist teams must be available to play at the Final held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 28th March 2010.
20. The 5-A-Side Final match will not exceed 20 minutes in length. Playing of the match is subject to any requirement imposed by the stadium owners and The Football League relating to the condition of the playing surface.
21. Prize Fund: The two finalist teams will play against each other in a 5-A-Side match at Wembley Stadium, prior to kick-off of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final on Sunday 28th March 2010. The two finalist teams will each receive return coach travel to Wembley Stadium, tickets to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final and a personalised football kit which must be worn during the 5-A-Side Final match.
22. All Entrants agree to be bound by all entry instructions of which these terms and conditions form a part.
23. PPG Architectural Coatings UK Limited and PPG Architectural Coatings Ireland Limited will check participating players at the final stage of the competition and reserve the right to exclude anyone who does not fulfil the entry criteria.
24. The promoter will collect personal details for the purpose of administering this promotion. In administering this promotion, the promoter will not collect more of your personal information than absolutely necessary. By entering this promotion you agree to the collection and use of your data in this manner.
25. Participants may be required to take part in any related publicity.
26. The promoter reserves the right to vary or terminate this promotion at any time due to wholly exceptional circumstances beyond their control that make it impossible to continue.
