A class of Scunthorpe children are in for a ball in the classroom this week, thanks to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Youngsters at Berkeley Junior School will receive 50 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy balls as a thank you for their efforts in the recent ‘design-a-boot’ competition. Talented pupil, Charlie Henderson, aged 10, proudly won the competition, beating hundreds of pupils across the UK.
Charlie will be presented with a pair of fetching football boots for his dazzling solo effort, at the same time his classmates will receive Johnstone’s limited edition Paint Trophy balls.
And to cap off the festivities, the prestigious Johnstone’s Paint Trophy will be there for pictures and Scunny Bunny, Scunthorpe United’s’ official mascot, will be hopping along to officially present the prizes.
The inaugural design a boot competition was launched to coincide with Scunthorpe United’s progression into the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on April 5, where they face Luton Town FC.
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Sally Binns said: “We would like to applaud the pupils at Berkeley Junior School and congratulate them for their inspiring sketches.
“These prizes are the least we could offer for the time and creativity that went into the designs. Charlie’s boot really stood out for me - he definitely brought colour to the beautiful game!”
