The recently-promoted League Two side edged past Ronnie Moore's outfit in midweek courtesy of a goal from Jamie Burns and will now host Vale at Christie Park in the week commencing October 8.

Also in the northern section, defending champions Doncaster, who recorded a resounding 5-1 win over Bradford on Tuesday, will host fellow League One side Oldham.

Leeds, who have enjoyed a flying start to their League One campaign despite being deducted 15 points during the summer, face a trip to north-east side Darlington, while Hartlepool will travel to Lincoln.

Carlisle host Chester at Brunton Park, Bury will make the short trip to Rochdale and Rotherham welcome Grimsby to Millmoor.

There is one outstanding first-round tie in the northern section between Wrexham and Macclesfield, which will be played on September 18, with the winners set to face Stockport.

In the southern section, Dagenham and Redbridge will make the short trip to Leyton Orient after overcoming another League One side Southend on penalties in the first round.

Swindon recorded a thumping 4-1 win over Brentford in the first round and they will host Cheltenham, while Yeovil will travel to Hereford after their slender win over Shrewsbury.

Peterborough's brilliant 3-2 win over League One giants Nottingham Forest has set them up for a trip to MK Dons and Swansea's tense win over Millwall means they will face Wycombe at home.

Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers host Bournemouth, Barnet travel to Brighton and Gillingham will entertain Luton at Priestfield
