Johnstone's Paint Trophy tattoo

Tats the way to do it!

For one Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre worker, Grimsby Town’s crunch clash with Morecambe is guaranteed to end in pain – whether the Mariners win or lose!

Grimsby fanatic Harry Morris, assistant manager at our Europa Park Decorating Centre already boasts one tattoo after his side last reached Wembley in 1998.

And the lifelong fan has promised to commemorate reaching the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final with another, should Grimsby beat Morecambe in the area final second leg on Tuesday 4th March.

With Grimsby 1-0 up from the first leg with Morecambe at Christie Park, Harry is hoping to feel the pain of the needle, rather than the heartache of elimination from the competition.

The 56-year-old said: “Another tattoo is a distinct possibility. If we do get to the final, there will be 25,000 to 30,000 screaming Grimsby fans, and if it is anything like our win against Bournemouth back in 1998, it will be a day to remember.”

Harry is convinced his side’s name is destined to be etched on the silverware after defying the odds to beat Doncaster in the last round, under the leadership of manager Alan Buckley, who was in charge of the team when they last lifted the cup.

Harry added: “I think we have got as good a chance as anyone now. We are playing as well as we have in some time and I would be so thrilled to see the side at the new-look Wembley.

“Alan Buckley, the man who masterminded our success in 1998, is back in charge, so I’m hoping that fate will play its part.”

Johnstone’s. Bringing colour to the beautiful game.
