Hartlepool United receives award after a striking round two performance

Hartlepool United players were delighted to receive the highly sought after ‘Ultra Team of the Round’ award following round two of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The team was rewarded for their thrilling performance in the game against Lincoln City, a side currently located in 24th place in League Two. The final score was 2 -5 to Hartlepool.

Hartlepool manager Danny Wilson was full of praise for striker Joel Porter after he scored a hat-trick in the 5-2 victory against Lincoln City.

“Joel was superb! That was Joel showing the quality he has but he also worked so hard and his attitude was spot on. In some games this season we haven’t had much luck but in the match we earned our luck through some very good attacking play.”

“To be awarded the Ultra Team of the Round trophy is a fantastic accolade to the team performance on the night, and what a performance it was!”

Pools stormed in to the next round with a strong attacking display at the Lincoln City ground which was led my Joel Porter’s sensational hat-trick. The win certainly proved the club will be a strong contender in the pursuit for the prestigious silver plated Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The battle for the title will now continue on w/c 12th November 2007 against League Two side, Morecambe who are currently placed 15th.

Johnstone’s sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “Some fantastic football has been played so far and I’m sure this will continue over the remaining games.”
