City will play against local rivals Bristol Rovers over two legs in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern area final.
Bristol City had already reserved their place in the area final a week earlier after securing a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on the 23rd Jan 07. City was joined by Rovers after the team defeated Shrewsbury Town 1-0 in the area semi-final at Gay Meadow on the 30th Jan 2007.
City manager, Gary Johnson, told bcfc.co.uk: "It's two massive games that we can really look forward to. Credit to Bristol Rovers for beating Shrewsbury Town, it's a long tome since the two clubs have met, so it's brilliant for the supporters and I'm sure both legs will sell-out."
City hasn't lost a Bristol Derby since April 2000, when they were defeated 2-0 at the Memorial Stadium.
Rover's manager, Paul Trollope told bristolrovers.co.uk "We're very much looking forward to the two games against Bristol City. There hasn't been a competitive derby in a number of years, and to have a two-legged one is a huge boost for the city and it makes it even more special".
The first leg will be played at Ashton Gate on Wednesday 21st February 07. The second leg will then be held at the Memorial Stadium a week later on Tuesday 27th February 07.
